amongst the top most business schools in India and Asia, the
Indian
Institute of Management, Ahmedabad was founded in 1961.
IIMA was established by the government of India, in collaboration
with the government of Gujarat and Indian industry.
In its formative years, IIMA collaborated with the Harvard
Business school (HBS). Largely as a consequence of this collaboration,
IIMA pioneered the case method of teaching in India.
Courses Offered
The Educational programs offered by the IIMA for the development
of management are:

Post Graduate Program in Management
(PGP-Gen)

Post Graduate Program in Agri-Business
Management (PGP-Agri)

Fellow Program in Management (FPM)

Faculty Development Program (FDP)

Management Development Program (MDP)
- a refresher for middle and top level managers.
Admission process for PGP and FPM involves taking the Common
Admission Test (CAT) followed by group discussion and interviews
for short listed candidates.
Eligibility (PGP-Gen)
At least a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent qualification)
in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities. Candidates appearing for the final Bachelor's
degree examination can also apply provide they complete the
admission requirements before the registration date for the
first year.
Preference will be given to candidates with relevant managerial
experience acquired after graduation.
Eligibility (PGP-ABM)
Postgraduate Program - Specialization Package in Agriculture
(PGP-SPA) is designed to prepare students for careers in rural
and agricultural development.

From an institution recognized by the Association of
Indian Universities:
(a) A Bachelor's degree in agriculture or horticulture.
or
(b) A Master's degree in any discipline of agriculture/agricultural
economics/economics (with specialization in agricultural
economics)/agricultural extension/ agricultural statistics/cooperation/food
technology/rural studies/rural sociology)
or
(c) A Bachelor's degree in any discipline including allied
disciplines to those mentioned in (a) above with clearly
demonstrated interest and understanding of agriculture,
rural development, and allied fields, preferably with relevant
work experience.
